The minimum part exchange allowance depends on the category of instrument purchased and part exchanged. For example a trumpet ranges from £30 when buying an entry-level trumpet, up to £120 when upgrading an old Yamaha trumpet to a new Professional model.

For example: a student flautist, learning on a basic student model, could upgrade to a fantastic Yamaha 211 flute (that would take them up to and beyond grade 5) – and get £30 for trading in their old instrument (even if it wasn't working!)
