There is no age limit for learning the keyboard, and if you are looking for a new hobby, this may be the one for you! The big decision now is to choose the right model for you! As there are so many out there, I have narrowed it down to some particular keyboards that you should be looking at!

EZ-220

The EZ-220 is a brilliant starter keyboard for anyone who wants to get playing instantly. It is one of the few models to have light up keys, which makes it even easier for beginners to get started. The keys work brilliantly alongside the 100 built in songs, as it provides an interactive experience for learning your first pieces. The keys are also touch sensitive, and so you start to grasp the concepts of playing an acoustic piano.

AXP25

One of the most popular starter keyboards that we stock, the AXP25 is an incredible keyboard for the price. It is the only keyboard at £100 which features 61 touch sensitive keys, as well as a variety of voices and accompaniment styles. You also get your dual/split functions, as well as the capability to record and playback your songs. Don’t worry, headphones can be plugged into the keyboard so you can keep playing at night!

PSREW400

This keyboard is brilliant for learning and playing professionally. Unlike other portable keyboard models, it features 76 touch sensitive keys which enable you to play a wider choice of pieces. The accompaniment styles and voices are also upgraded, meaning musicians of all levels can get the most out of the keyboard. The PSREW400 also has an AUX in port, meaning you can connect an MP3 player to it. I think this is particularly handy, as you can begin playing along to some of your favourite songs!

NP12

If you are looking more at learning the piano, the NP12 may be a good option. It is a 61 note, touch sensitive keyboard with weighted keys. It focuses more on having a high quality piano sound than some of the other features in different models, and so is a great choice for people who want to learn piano style pieces. The NP12 is also very versatile, meaning you can easily transport it to your lessons. It is also available in either black or white, meaning it can fit with any environment!

These are just a few of the many models we stock here at Normans which I think would be a brilliant starter keyboard for anyone! All of the different models are available to look at on our website (click here), and all of the specifications can be found on there too! Of course, if you need some more advice on what keyboard would be best for you, please feel free to contact us via sales@normans.co.uk or by calling 01283 535333 (option 1). Now, I’m going to go and play a bit of piano! J
