Normans Order Processing and Delivery Procedure

At Normans we understand that safe Delivery of your goods is a major factor in your purchasing decision.  We believe our customers should know exactly what will happen to their order from the moment they complete checkout.

Normans : Shipping

How is your order processed?

Email Order acknowledgement – Sent on completion of Checkout.

Order Processing We aim to ship your order within 24 hours of receipt, although during very busy 'peak' periods processing may take slightly longer.  Please note that orders placed over the weekend are processed the following Monday. 

Out of Stock – If any of the items you have ordered are temporarily out of stock we will email you to confirm the estimated delivery date. Please note that for orders with multiple items we will still despatch the items we have immediately and there will be no extra charge for the subsequent delivery.

Despatch Confirmation email – Once your order has been picked, checked and packed by our warehouse team we will send a copy of your invoice along with further information regarding the despatch method.

Normans : UK Shipping

Shipping Methods (UK Mainland)

We use a variety of shipping methods depending on the size/value of your order.

Royal Mail – Very small/low value parcels are be sent via Royal Mail, we use their First Class service so most arrive 1-2 days after our despatch confirmation. 

Royal Mail Tracked - Medium sized parcels will be shipped using Royal Mail Tracked (48 Hour) Service. You will receive your tracking information in an email directly from Royal Mail.  No signature is required and if you are unavailable to receive delivery the parcel will be left at your local Post Office for you to collect. 

DPD – Larger/Higher value shipments will be despatched via DPD, who will email/SMS you directly to confirm the delivery date (usually the Next Working Day after your goods leave us).  They will also provide you with an estimated 1 hour delivery slot so that you don't need to wait in all day! Please note that DPD deliveries do require a signature so if the delivery date/time is not suitable you can respond to them directly and make alternative arrangements.  If you are not at the premises when delivery is attempted, the driver will leave a card with details of how to arrange a redelivery. 

Pallet – Extra large items or large multiple orders are shipped on a pallet using the Palletways network which normally takes 2-3 days. Our warehouse team will contact you in advance to arrange a convenient time for the delivery to take place.

Piano – Due to the bespoke nature of Piano delivery these are delivered by a specialist firm, our warehouse team will contact you to arrange delivery. 

BFPO – We are able to deliver to a BFPO address providing the order is placed by an organisation such as a school or a band. Private customers should use their residential barrack address. Items delivered through BFPO will be shipped via Defence Storage Distribution Agency in Bicester. Once with DSDA, delivery timescale is dependant on their deliver schedules. Normans cannot be held responsible for any delay. Please be aware that deliveries can take anything from a few days to several months to reach their final destination. We are unable to deliver to BFPO addresses other than through the DSDA channel.

Normans : Overseas Shipping

International Shipping

International consignments are shipped using a number of different couriers/freight forwarders depending on the final destination. Companies used regularly include Royal Mail, DPD, UPS, TNT & Palletways. Our shipping regions are split into Zones as illustrated below, if you cannot find your country listed please contact support@normans.co.uk

To ensure that we can keep you updated regarding the delivery please ensure you include a valid email and telephone number on your order.

If you are placing an order for delivery to Norway, please provide your PID number as we are unable to clear your goods through customs without it.

Please note that overseas customers are accountable for paying any local taxes or duties on importation of goods to their country.  

Additional Note: We are currently unable to ship to Russia due to Russian import guidelines.

Shipping Charges

Free UK Mainland Shipping on orders over £150

All orders with a total value of over £150.00 for delivery to a UK mainland address will qualify for FREE SHIPPING.

All prices relating to the shipping charge of an individual item are clearly listed on the individual product page under the Shipping tab. Where multiple items are ordered the charge is calculated based on the combined weight/volumetric weight of the items purchased. The total shipping charge is clearly stated at checkout prior to a request for payment.

Due to the complex nature of parcel delivery (particularly overseas) Normans reserves the right to amend the quoted shipping price in exceptional circumstances (for example large/heavy items, such as a Piano, to first floor apartments/final destinations at the extremities of a region). Please be assured that this is a very rare occurrence and we will always contact you prior to shipping in order to discuss the issue with you and agree a mutually acceptable cost/solution.
