What do offset G and split E actually mean?

Offset G places the G key slightly forward so smaller hands reach it naturally. The split E mechanism makes the high E — one of the hardest notes on a flute — speak much more reliably. Both features are exactly what teachers recommend on a first flute.

What age can a child start the flute?

Most children start the flute at around 8–10, once their arms comfortably reach the full length of the instrument. For younger or smaller starters, a curved head flute brings the keys closer and makes correct posture possible from day one.

How should a student flute be cared for?

Wipe the flute down and dry the inside with the included cleaning rod and cloth after each practice, and keep it in its case between sessions — that alone keeps pads and keywork in good condition between services.
