What age is a full size acoustic guitar for?

Ages 11 and over, including adults. Younger children generally need a 3/4 or smaller guitar — height and arm reach matter more than exact age, so check a size guide if in doubt.

Is a steel-string acoustic harder for beginners than nylon?

Steel strings are firmer under the fingers than nylon, so the first couple of weeks take slightly more toughening up — but they produce the brighter, fuller sound most modern players want, and fingertips adjust quickly with regular practice.

Why do new guitar strings keep going out of tune?

New strings stretch, so frequent retuning in the first week is normal on every guitar. Once the strings and wood settle into tension, the geared tuners hold pitch well between practice sessions.

What else does a beginner need?

Nothing essential — the bag, strap, picks and spare strings are all in the pack. A clip-on tuner and a music stand are the two accessories most players add first.
