A-STAR | The Kokiriko

The sound of the Kokiriko is often described as being like Dominos falling. A traditional instrument from Japan, it is played by creating an arc shape and moving the arms up and down. This causes the slats to clack together in rapid succession. This piece of percussion traditionally has a band of leather on the back to hold it together. The A-star range has no such material. This helps to make them more robust and lower maintenance.
