How does AIPS work?

Once the parent/pupil has chosen an instrument, the school should place a formal order with us as normal. The parent then pays the ex-VAT price to the school (usually when the school places the order). Our invoice includes VAT which the school reclaims in the normal way. If you would like to purchase your instrument with Normans on the AIPS+ scheme, please quote 'AIPS+' on your order.

I've never heard of AIPS: Can I use the scheme?

Most likely, yes. The rules (not set by us, unfortunately) are as follows:

The student must be in full time education at a Local Authority School
The student mus be receiving music tuition at the school
The instrument must be appropriate for the pupils needs, so maybe not a Stradivarius Trumpet for 6 year old Keely who is just mastering 3 Blind Mice.
The instrument must be portable, and no -  putting wheels on a Grand Piano does not make it 'portable'
The instrument must be handed over from school to pupil in a designated teaching room
The instrument must be charged to the pupil / pupil's parents at or below the school's (ex VAT cost)

This all looks great, but how do I actually place the order?
If you are a school; ordering via phone or email is the easiest, just make sure your orders says 'AIPS+ on it'
If you are a parent; get in touch with the school to find out how they place their orders
