What difference does gold brass make?

Gold brass has a higher copper content than standard yellow brass, giving a warmer, broader tone with more depth in the sound — a material choice usually reserved for professional instruments, used here across the whole body, bell and leadpipe.

When is a player ready for a step-up trumpet?

Typically around Grades 4–5, when tone quality, projection and intonation start deciding exam marks and ensemble seatings — or whenever a teacher says the student instrument is limiting the player's sound.
