The Mapex Venus is a complete, ready-to-play drum kit built for beginners who are serious about getting started. The 9-ply, 7.2mm poplar shells are fitted with Mapex's SONIClear bearing edges, which allow the drumhead to sit flush against the shell for easier tuning, better resonance and a cleaner overall tone. The result is warm, full-bodied toms, a crisp crack from the snare and a punchy, low-end thump from the 22" bass drum - a well-balanced sound that works across rock, pop and beyond. Remo UC drumheads are fitted as standard, ensuring consistent tone right out of the box.
Hardware and Cymbals
The Venus kit comes equipped with a thoughtfully specified hardware package. The P410 single bass drum pedal features a solid base plate, single chain drive, adjustable spurs and a reversible angle-adjustable beater, giving it a responsive, performance-ready feel that outperforms many pedals at this level. The H410 hi-hat stand uses a direct pull chain drive for a smooth, consistent action and an angle-adjustable seat cup for authentic hi-hat response. The TH652 double tom holder makes positioning your toms quick and secure with multi-angle adjustment built in.
The included Mapex hammered brass cymbals - 14" hi-hats, a 16" crash and a 20" ride - deliver a bright, clear tone that complements the warmth of the shells. Mini B-Lugs, inspired by Mapex's premium Saturn Evolution Series, complete the package and make tuning straightforward for players still finding their way around the kit.
