The Knock on Wood Nesting Samba Pack is a 10 player samba set from Brazil, designed for schools and small groups. It includes three nesting single-headed surdos for playing on the floor, a caixa, two tamborims, two ganza shakers, two agogo bells and a tri-tone whistle for the leader, giving a group of 10 everything needed to start playing samba together.

Three Nesting Surdos for Floor Playing

The three Contemporânea surdos measure 12, 14 and 16 inches in diameter, and each comes with a Liverpool mallet. They are single headed and designed to be played on the ground, supported on the rubber feet provided. After each session the surdos stack inside each other, making the pack easy to store and transport.

Caixa, Tamborims, Ganzas and Agogo Bells

Alongside the surdos, the pack includes a Contemporânea caixa, the samba snare drum, plus 2 Contemporânea tamborims, 2 ganza shakers and 2 agogo bells. Liverpool caixa sticks, tamborim sticks and agogo beaters are included, so every instrument is ready to play. The tri-tone whistle allows the leader to signal starts, stops and changes.

Who Is This 10 Player Samba Pack Suitable For?

The pack suits small group lessons, school samba clubs, music services and community groups looking for a great value introduction to samba. With 10 instruments covering the main parts of a samba band, it works well as a complete set for a small group or as a starting point that can be added to as the group grows.
