The Knock on Wood (KOW) Nesting Samba Pack for 20 Players is a complete samba band set from Brazil, designed for schools and larger groups. It includes four nesting single-headed surdos for playing on the floor, a caixa, a repinique, six tamborims, a pandeiro, three ganza shakers, four agogo bells and a tri-tone whistle for the leader.

Four Nesting Surdos for Floor Playing

The four Contemporânea surdos measure 12, 14, 16 and 18 inches in diameter and are supplied with Liverpool mallets. They are single headed and designed to be played on the ground, supported on the rubber feet provided. After each session the surdos stack inside each other, keeping the pack compact to store and transport.

Caixa, Repinique and a Full Samba Line-Up

The pack includes a Contemporânea caixa, the samba snare drum, and a Contemporânea repinique, the lead drum used to call and drive the band. Six Contemporânea tamborims, an Izzo pandeiro, three ganza shakers and four agogo bells complete the line-up, with sticks and beaters included.

Who Is This 20 Player Samba Pack Suitable For?

The pack suits school samba bands, music services, after-school clubs and community groups. With 20 instruments covering every main part of a samba band, including the lead repinique, it gives a group a full samba sound. The tri-tone whistle allows the leader to signal starts, stops and changes.
