The Knock on Wood (KOW) Nesting Samba Pack for 30 Players is a complete samba band set from Brazil, designed for schools and large groups. It includes eight nesting single-headed Contemporânea surdos for playing on the floor, two caixas, a repinique, eight tamborims, a pandeiro, five ganza shakers, five agogo bells and a tri-tone whistle for the leader, with mallets, sticks and beaters included.

Eight Nesting Surdos for Floor Playing

The eight Contemporânea surdos form two nesting sets, each with 12, 14, 16 and 18-inch drums, and every surdo comes with its own Liverpool mallet. They are single headed and designed to be played on the ground, supported on the rubber feet provided. After each session the surdos stack inside each other, keeping a large drum section compact to store and transport.

Caixas, Repinique and a Full Samba Line-Up

Two Contemporânea caixas, the samba snare drums, keep the rhythm moving, while the Contemporânea repinique is the lead drum used to call and drive the band. Liverpool sticks are supplied for the caixas and repinique. Eight Contemporânea tamborims with sticks, an Izzo pandeiro, five ganza shakers and five agogo bells with beaters complete the line-up.

Who Is This 30 Player Samba Pack Suitable For?

The pack is sized for a whole class, making it suitable for school samba bands, music services, after-school clubs and community groups. With 30 instruments covering every main part of a samba band, the whole group can play at the same time. The tri-tone whistle allows the leader to signal starts, stops and changes.
