PreSonus Eris 4.5BT Active Studio Monitors

The PreSonus Eris 4.5BT is a pair of active media reference monitors that bring studio-quality sound to compact setups. Designed for bedroom studios, video production and high-fidelity gaming, they deliver the accurate, even frequency response that the Eris series is known for worldwide - without the hyped bass or coloured sound typical of consumer desktop speakers.

Each monitor is powered by a 25W Class AB amplifier, with a 4.5-inch woven-composite woofer and a 1-inch ultra-low mass silk-dome tweeter crossing over at 2.8 kHz. The result is a smooth, detailed listen from 70 Hz to 20 kHz, with a peak SPL of 100 dB at one metre - more than enough headroom for critical listening in a home or project studio environment.

Inputs and Connectivity

The Eris 4.5BT offers a practical range of connection options. Two balanced quarter-inch TRS inputs and two unbalanced RCA inputs cover the majority of desktop audio interfaces and consumer sources, while a stereo 3.5mm input handles laptops and mobile devices directly. Bluetooth 5.0 adds fast, reliable wireless streaming for casual listening without disconnecting your studio sources. A front-panel volume control and integrated headphone amplifier with 3.5mm output round out the feature set for convenient everyday use.

Acoustic Tuning and Protection

High and low-frequency acoustic tuning controls - each offering plus or minus 6 dB of adjustment centred at 10 kHz and 100 Hz respectively - allow the monitors to be dialled in to suit the listening environment. A comprehensive protection circuit covers RF interference, output-current limiting, over-temperature, turn-on and turn-off transients and a subsonic filter, while a power saver mode engages automatically after 40 minutes of inactivity.

The cabinet is built from vinyl-laminated medium-density fibreboard for rigidity and resonance control, keeping the focus on accurate sound reproduction rather than cabinet colouration.
