The Yamaha DTX452 Electronic Drum Kit is an entry-level electronic drum kit built around the DTX402 sound module, giving beginner drummers a realistic playing feel alongside a wide range of built-in sounds and practice tools. It suits players who are just starting out, as well as anyone who wants to practise regularly without the volume or space demands of an acoustic kit.

Realistic sounds and playing feel
The DTX452 comes with 10 built-in drum kits covering acoustic and electronic sounds, along with 287 drum and percussion voices and 128 keyboard voices to choose from. A 3-zone TP70S snare pad lets you play the head as well as open and closed rimshots, while a genuine Yamaha bass drum pedal drives the kick pad for a more authentic feel than a simple foot trigger.

Training tools built in
Ten built-in training functions, including Pad Gate, Rhythm Gate and Fast Blast, help drummers build timing, technique and speed without needing a separate teacher or metronome. A recording function also lets you play back your performance to check your progress.

Quiet, flexible practice
The DTX452 can be played through headphones for near-silent practice at any time of day, and its AUX input lets you plug in another audio source to play along with your own music. The module also connects to a computer over USB to send audio and MIDI data, making it useful for recording as well as practice.

Compact and easy to set up
A sturdy steel rack holds the pads and cymbals in an adjustable, foldable frame, so the kit can be positioned to suit players of different heights and packed away when not in use. Simple assembly means you can have the kit set up and ready to play in a short amount of time.

Ready to play, with headphones or an amp
Like other electronic drum kits, the DTX452 needs headphones or a connected amplifier or speaker system to be heard properly, since the pads themselves only make a quiet tapping sound.
