What is the difference between a stage piano and a digital piano?

A stage piano is a digital piano without the furniture — no wooden cabinet or fixed stand — so it costs less, weighs less and moves easily. The playing experience comes from the keys and sound engine, which is where the AXD55 puts its budget.
