Why does touch sensitivity matter on a beginner keyboard?

Touch sensitive keys respond to how firmly they are pressed, just like a piano — play harder and the note is louder. Learning on touch sensitive keys from the start builds proper dynamics and control, and makes the move to a piano or digital piano far smoother later on.

Are 61 keys enough to learn on?

Yes — 61 keys covers everything a beginner plays in their first few years, including most exam pieces at early grades. A full 88-key instrument only becomes important once a player is tackling advanced piano repertoire.

Can you practise without disturbing the house?

Yes. A pair of stereo headphones is included in the box — plug them in and the keyboard is silent to everyone else, so practice can happen at any hour.

Do I need to buy a stand or seat separately?

No — unlike most keyboards at this level, the AXP2 package includes the keyboard stand, a bench and the mains adaptor, so it is ready to set up and play straight out of the box. If you already have a stand and seat, the AXP2 keyboard on its own is also available.
